OVERVIEW

Nomia is a gastro-tech startup that that digitises restaurant staffing plans using smart data integration and AI. The product enhances operational efficiency, saves managers' time, and improves employee satisfaction by accommodating preferred work times. Their mission is to prepare restaurants for a more sustainable future.

Nomia is a personal project and was part of a design challenge.

Serving bold design

LOGO DESIGN

Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology, I came up with the name ‘Nomia’ for the gastro-tech startup. Eunomia is the greek god of organisation, also know as the spring-time goddess of green pastures (Nomia) and stands for a new and better situation.

Nomia helps restaurants to create a new and better situation when it comes to planning and scheduling staff. The custom 'N' in the logo features a wavy shape which is derived from the tags found in a planner/schedule. This shape, also present in the logo symbol, stands for optimisation and simplicity.

ART DIRECTION

The brand values I defined for the brand are sustainability, simplicity, optimisation and productivity. With the target audience being owners and managers from contemporary restaurants, it was my mission for the design to make it modern yet bold.

With that in mind, I deliberate chose a bright orange for the primary color to evoke a sense of energy and to make it stand out. The end result is a modern, bold yet simple and refined branding which also translates to the website.
